The Planets, Gustav Holst's epic 1916 suite of mystical tone poems, will be a feast for your imagination. Its memorable melodies evoke the astrological personas of seven planets in our solar system, and they have influenced music for films such as Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. In a stunning multimedia performance, Astronomer Jose Francisco Salgado will join the orchestra on stage to share breathtaking images, and insights into the physical personas, of Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
