CHILDREN'S CONCERTS
Each fall, the West Suburban Symphony Orchestra presents a day of short educational concerts in the western suburbs, designed to be a field trip experience for students in grades 1-8. A typical concert is 45 minutes long, and includes instructional comments by Music Director Peter Lipari and a question-and-answer session with students.

October 2008 Concert
On Monday, October 27, we will present our 17th annual fall concert for school groups: Boo!. West Suburban Symphony Music Director Peter Lipari will lead the orchestra in three exciting works guaranteed to give students thrills and chills:
- Danse Macabre, by Charles-Camille Saint Saens, featuring solo violin
- March to the Scaffold from Symphonie Fantasique, by Hector Berlioz
- Selections from Phantom of the Opera, by Andrew Lloyd Webber
This concert is a wonderful opportunity for teachers to share the passion and fun of symphony music with their students. In the past, entire grade levels, band members, orchestra members, and general music classes have come to the concert.
- Date: Monday, October 27
- Time: Three identical 45-minute performances at:
- 9:30 a.m.
- 10:45 a.m.
- 1 p.m.
- Location: Christ Church of Oak Brook, York Road and 31st Street, just east of Route 83; ample parking for school buses, handicapped accessible.
The mail-in registration form will be posted here in August. Up to 1000 students and chaperones can be accommodated at each performance. At least two of the three shows sell out each year, so schools are advised to make their reservations early. Seating blocks are reserved for school groups in the order in which payment is received.
