We're stepping up

While we're unable to make music in a concert hall ....

Two of our own are working on the front lines of the coronavirus fight: harpist Nancy Dunagan of Berwyn as an ICU nurse at Loyola Hospital in Maywood and violinist/violist Michelle Rank of Glen Ellyn as an occupational therapist for acute-care patients at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Our president, cellist Rich Lukes of Berwyn, is on the Rush University Medical Center team that's making the EPIC healthcare software available to support the McCormick Place hospital.

Chorister Deni Cantrall is helping feed the homeless in Downers Grove. Read about it here.

Violinist Judy Skalak of Westchester is checking out groceries at Kramer's Foods in Hinsdale.

And to help young musicians keep up with their lessons...

  • Accordionist Mary Ann Covone of Western Springs is giving her Old Town School of Folk Music lessons, as reported by here by CBS2 news.
  • Flautist Jan Frank of Naperville and violinist Candy Fraser of Clarendon Hills have converted their suburban teaching studios into virtual operations as well.
